Meet the Squad
-
Bronwen Bedivere
FBI agent. Investigator. Dhampir.
Bronwen was a rising star in the FBI. Top of her class at Quantico, a spotless case record, and a strong motivation for justice… Then she and her squad stumbled into a vampire nest during what should have been a routine smuggling bust. Her team was slaughtered, and she was separated from her partner. When the vampire draining her was killed by an unknown assailant, his blood entered her body. She later regained consciousness, finding she had changed - not into a full vampire, but into something between vampire and human. Found shortly thereafter by ARCADE, she was given a choice: leave her old life behind to join ARCADE, where she could receive help for her new condition… or get taken in by force. It wasn’t really a choice at all.

Victor Valentine
Thief. Smoker. Victim of circumstance.
Victor grew up in Louisiana before a mysterious tragedy killed his parents. Taken in by his grandparents, he developed bad habits to cope; expensive habits, so he turned to theft. When he got caught stealing from the mob, it put him in their debt with his grandparents’ lives as collateral. He became their thief, using what cash he got to fund his habits which only grew more costly in taste. Then came the terminal diagnosis, and the bargain from the man at the crossroads: power and a pause on the cancer, in exchange for even greater indulgence of those habits. The answer was obvious. When he was found by ARCADE, they made him another offer: work for them and they’d protect his family, plus help get him an upper hand in that bargain. The answer was obvious.

Sandra O'Hara
Activist. Free spirit. Phytokinetic.
Sandra was only six years old when she disappeared during a family hiking trip in the Elysian Forest. She reappeared nine years later the exact same age, with no memory of what happened to her. From then on she lived a charmed life, growing up fascinated by nature and becoming an activist. A protest she was part of took a turn for the strange when the chanting of the other protestors summoned a violent nature spirit which possessed one of their members, transforming him into a monster. As she tried to save others in the chaos she found that she had the ability to control plant life, which she used to help them escape. She was found shortly after by ARCADE, who offered to help her investigate her past if she lent them her abilities. She agreed.

Jack Miller
ARCADE agent. Detective. Man of mystery.
No-one’s quite sure who Jack really is. He dodges questions about himself and his past before ARCADE, and he looks and acts like he just stepped out of a 1930’s noir film. He can track a suspect through a bustling crowd without losing them, stare down eldritch horrors without flinching, pin someone to the spot with only a glance, and doesn’t seem to age. He’s been with ARCADE since its inception, and his fellow agents find it strange he’s leading a team after being a solo operative for nearly thirty years. He recruited Bronwen, Sandra, and Victor in the wake of the most dramatic moments of their lives, offering them all a place under his wing with kindness and empathy. But there’s something in his eyes that sends a chill down your spine... One that makes you question if you can really trust him.
