What is a TTRPG?

TTRPG stands for tabletop roleplaying game, and it’s what it says on the tin: a game, typically played on top of a table, in which people play various roles or characters and work together to tell a story. At the most basic level, it’s essentially playing pretend with a structured ruleset. The most well-known example is Dungeons & Dragons, but there are many different games and systems made by many different publishers, all with their own  unique rules, tones, settings, and genres. Including the one we’re using for our premier campaign, Mutants & Masterminds, which is a superhero TTRPG!

What is an actual-play podcast?

An actual-play podcast is an online show in which the players of a game, often a TTRPG, record themselves having fun at the table, and then edit and export that recording so that other people can also join in on the fun. Not by playing along, necessarily, but by enjoying the story being told and the personalities of the players and their characters. Some shows lean more toward recreating the feeling of being at the table with the players, with light editing and post-production; others lean more toward immersing the listener in the story being told in the game, adding in things like sound effects and music to enhance the experience. Our show falls into the latter category.

What is Mutants & Masterminds?

Mutants & Masterminds is a superhero TTRPG written and published by Green Ronin Publishing. It has everything you and your friends could ever need to create and play your own superheroes (or villains!), and is widely available right now. Absolutely not! Every single episode of the main story of It Takes One To Hunt One will be released to the public for free. Now, if you want to enjoy the other content we put out that isn’t part of the main story, you’ll have to subscribe to our Patreon.
